How it is calculated

Dish cost is the sum of ingredient costs for the quantities used. When cooked dish weight and serving weight are entered, serving cost and nutrition use that weight ratio; otherwise the dish is divided by the serving count.

Package costs use the package size you enter. Once you enter your own prices, total cost appears only when every ingredient has a price; your prices are not mixed with shared prices. Your prices stay in this browser and do not become shared prices.

Recipe nutrition is the sum of its ingredients. A metric is shown only when it is known for every ingredient. The per-100 g cooked result uses the final weight you enter and does not estimate cooking losses.

For foods entered in litres, conversion to values per 100 g requires a known density. Without it, the calculator does not treat a litre as a kilogram.
