Saccharin calories: pure substance and prepared blends

Food identity, the scope of available data and the calculation that can be supported.

Zero for the substance is not zero for every product

Saccharin itself provides no calories. A tablet, powder or drink containing it may contain other ingredients. The weight of a tablet is not necessarily the weight of pure saccharin.

Use the composition of the actual blend

Serving calories equal the label calories multiplied by serving weight and divided by the label basis weight. A hypothetical blend with 200 kcal per 100 g would supply 2 kcal in 1 g; this is a formula example, not a brand value. An unknown blend remains unknown. A calorie calculation does not establish an appropriate dose.

Continue with your own food

Match the edible part, preparation and nutrition basis. Use your own package or receipt when it describes the actual food. Missing values remain unknown.
